well there you go some picture fun…fun was had by all and i don’t like being in indiana right now. i’d rather be in lincolin square with someone warmer than me right now. school starts back up on monday and it’s 2 weeks and then my borthday and finals…30 sounds too old. hopefully i don’t look 30. good god. someone BETTER TAKE ME OUT.

i had gotten a card

i had gotten a card from canada. i didn’t open it til today. i had to work myself up to it because it was from Shawn’s mother. I knew in my heart this wasn’t going to be an easy card to read. I was very close to his family, i loved him for a long time and hence i loved his family too. His mom and dad are really really great people, as is his grandmother and i think of them often.  i read her card and cried. i didn’t want to cry, but have you ever wanted to do something and it just became impossible? she wrote a wonderful little letter and sent a new picture of their granddog…roxy a little chocolate lab puppy. in the picture she is playing with josie, their white lab whom i miss very much as well. it’s funny how you grow close to people and their pets. she wrote as if i was just on my way and nothing had changed. this is what made it hard. she even signed it your second mom and how she misses tea with me…i just don’t know what to write to her or what to think. i miss her very very much as i miss his whole family, dog included…..i just should have left this card un-opened. then i wouldn’t have cried today.

i haven’t done laundry for over a month and it shows….mount laundry is unscale-able…it’s also taking me forever to do all of it fold it and sort it all…stupid laundry.
New Year’s eve i am looking forward to, for the first year in a long ass time i am going to do something…Nat and I are going to go to my friend Joy’s house and hopefully we are going to walk down to the lake and watch the fireworks off navy pier. should be real nice. for years i just worked new year’s eve or i wait for shawn to visit. now i am happy to do something. YAY.

the weekend has been spent

the weekend has been spent working, sleeping and watching movies. I miss Nat and Simon. i even spent time watching teevee today, which i haven’t done since the semester started in September. it was warmer today…too bad i spent the day indoors paging doctors for a living. i did get to craft today and i made some cards. that always helps.

happy holidays to everyone. today

happy holidays to everyone. today was spent with family. i worked for 4 hours and paged a bunch-o-doctors. my sister and her unborn fetus came over and we all had a good time exchanging gifts. my dad liked his old james bond DVD’s i got for him and my mother liked her “grandma” crap, picture frame etc etc…nat got the rest of his gifts
an onion book box set, a snowglobe, and some little notebooks and photo albums with kitties on them cause the kitty looked like Simon.

excellent gift giving:

3 screened prints from Nat..my favorites with the type.herefor his artwork (the prints he gave me are not shown)
a 5x5 painting of his i like so much
eame’s house of cards
a rubber stamp with my name
a DVD player
and some really cool animal wire shaped paperclips.
oh and i got a really cool sweater the color of vomit from my mom, it’s really heavy, she knows the ooooglier the color the more i will like it.
a fleece blankie made by my sister, that is my favorite color:orange.

and not to mention a hand made/painted card from nat that i think aside from his art work is the most special thing i got. i should scan it tomorrow and post it, it’s so pretty. since i don’t really get things that are hand made i almost want to cry when i do. my sister’s quilts included almost make me cry, cause they are so pretty and she spends so much time on them.

my top five favorite moments of today:

5.trying to get into the UNPLOWED parking lot at work this morning at 6:45 am. my car was going straight and the wheel was turned. i almost got stuck 6 times. it was for some reason entertaining.

4. being with family. my family is small and not so annoying. we all get along and laugh at each other. i like that alot. last year i worked 3-11 thanksgiving and xmas and i didn’t get to see anyone. it really can bum you out.

3.having Nat spend xmas day with us. i understand New Jersey is far away and stuff but having you spend it with my family made me all warm and fuzzy inside.

2. thinking of grandma K.

1. watching Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer on DVD with Nat.

Main bummer of the day: not winning the 282 MILLION in POWERBALL!

operation SOCK DOG will be in progress this week. hopefully it will be quiet enough at work tomorrow for me to start. i also have several cards to make tomorrow before 11am when i am done working and xmas celebrating begins. i have always wanted to learn to knit. i wish there was someone patient enough to teach me. le sigh

i have found my old

i have found my old box of cassette tapes in the basement and went thru them to throw some in my car. i have managed to find some tapes i made from 1992, 1994, 1996 & 1998 good lord. i forgot that i used to make covers from collages from old Sassy magazines…hence such unforgetable titles as:

CAN A BIG ZIT ON YOUR NOSE KILL YOU?

and various others…

as i listen to them i can hear my various stages of music i listened to through out the years…my hardcore stage….impel, cave in, botch etc….my pop punk stages…screeching weasel, all, descendents…rock music..jawbox, archer’s of loaf, superchunk, and i can’t forget my small ska phase back in 1994..scofflaws, let’s go bowling, etc etc….i even found some old manchester music such as CAST, and primal scream and some old stone roses cd maxi singles.

i was most happy to find this old copy of a rem tribute album called suprise your pig….with jawbreaker covering pretty persuasion..j-church covering don’t go back to rockville…tesco vee’s hate police covering losing my religion, jawbox doing low & when people were shorter and lived by the water covering i believe.

i went out to wal-mart tonight and was amazed at the amount of people still shopping for crap for xmas…people were running around throwing anything into their baskets..it was scarey….i just picked up a pair of socks, some wooden buttons, and some stuffing to make a sock dog, i saw these in the martha stewert’s kid’s magazine.

i must go dance now to shonen knife’s COBRA vs. MONGOOSE!  BIIIIIIIG FIGHT! BIIIIIG FIGHT!
