i tried, i really did. i made that post at about 2pm today. but my blog HTML was all wrong and not working. sorry folks. i’ve been busy tonight i embroidered a bunch of kitties, i played with one slobbery basset hound, i wrangled the beagle and the nephew out in the backyard.

here’s some knitting progress…i’m knitting two one skein wonders at the same time..on in black bliss by caron and the other in orange lion brand sude i blew out the photo so you can see the black.  but forgot to color correct even tho i almost rasterized it sorry there’s some red in the black!

and i have to thank Lisa for the painted cover cd we swapped. i still need to give this a listen…and also thank you to Alice for transmitance one which i still need to listen to..hey they came in the mail today! i’m a little behind on listening to the cd’s. they both look like pretty good mixes.

and sorry if the blog goes thru some weirdo HTML stuff over the next week or two. i’m working on getting a little store to buy handmade goods.

i’ve been away for quite sometime, i left for chicago on thursday nite rather than friday and was there til monday nite not sunday. so sorry for no posts. i have tot ake some pictures later so to hold you over….

i spent the afternoon and evening yesterday with Elizabeth who is an old friend from my college days when i went to IU in Bloomington. She lives in bloomington and has a doxie names Liselle. I’m sorry i didn’t have my camera with me yesterday. but elizabeth brought back all the old memories of bloomington in a giant flood.
we just walked around the Loop and visited.

next Zander &  Jessica fed the ducks last week after school, when we came back Zander took her for a ride in his power wheels. Check out her cuuuute little red polka dotted dress.

i have to thank Erin again those mary jane slippers she gave me the ones she worked up, are so comfy. i’ve kept them here and use my other’s i bought at nat’s. go look at her socks for her pal. they are simply pretty in real life.

that is all for now. i’m child and dog wrangling today. we went to the super joann’s out in scherrillville today and it’s taken all the energy out of us.
time for a nap, the hounds are also sleeping.

orange!

Comments (5)

orange is my favorite color.
it makes me happy.
why don’t more people like the color orange?
everyone likes blue, or green.
but not me.
orange!

look what came today…my second set of stitch markers from marker mania.
they came all the way from Idaho. (land of napoleon dynamite)
they are from Shelley she also sent a pretty handmade card thanks for being so attentive on my favorite color shelley!
and your home improvments are looking good! as are the sewing projects you just posted.

in other news i finished the skirt i sewed ribbon to. it’s quite nice. and the sewing wasn’t so hard after all…all the work was done with the pinning. thankfully i spent alot of time pinning it.

do your ears hang low?

Comments (2)

we’d like to welcome the newest member into the family. my sister rescued LUCY from someone who couldn’t keep her anylonger. she was originally from a basset rescue as well, she’s even microchipped from the rescue. Lucy comes to us from Wannatah indiana, and she’s 6 yr old. She’s quite gentle and generally a happy dog, she wags her tail lots and lots. She seems to be acclimating to Samuel quite well and so far thru the weekend there weren’t any issues with the two dogs.
please welcome with me now….Ms. LUCY (also already affectionatly called lowrider luce)

she’s crafty…she gets around,,,she’s crafty…she’s always down

Comments (6)

what a great day for a trade. first up. i mentioned awhile back that my friend Lesa made a couple needle rolls and tote bags. Since i can’t sew and she wanted to hear some new indie rock, and complimented my photography..we set up a good old fashioned trade. awhile back she made me my beautiful double points needle roll

she made me this totally awsome super deluxe tote bag, with piddleloop embroidered on the pocket!!!!!!!! also the bag is ORANGE PLAID!!!! and long cause i am tall.

so i gave her these today (and a few others in the knitting group too)

i shot all the photography last weekend at a fair. i am toying around with using this artwork for my dual disc debacle but it’s so much printing on photo paper and alot of labels. and i am still unemployed. plus i made over 20+ of the summer jams disc and i am really sick of assembling these things. what do you think? what should i do?

also i walked in to our meeting tonight and i hear erin say “i have STUFF for you”..i did not expect this stuff. but it was good cause i got to say i also have cd’s for you! look what she gave me..this is seriously so cool. you ALL are going to want to knit these. i just know it. erin knows i, like her, really love all things mary jane (SHOES…SHOES PEOPLE) and i lent her a pair of slippers i bought at walmart like a year and 1/2 ago. i knew she could whip up a pattern for these in no time. she mocked one up, has people testing the pattern and put them up on her blog. she gave me the pair she worked up!!

she will be putting the pattern up soon, keep checking her site. volunteers are test knitting it for her first. i think these will make some cute xmas presents.

i am so glad i have crafty friends to trade stuff with. it is quite addictive and quite fun.

knitting stuffs

Comments (1)

i found a new yarn shop in chicago this weekend. it’s even in nat’s neighborhood! it’s called Knit 1 and she doesn’t have a website yet, it’s really small but she has great ideas. she wants to have a library of books for you to check out, and your fee to use the books for a year will help buy newer books. she also has alot of artisan lines of yarn shops don’t carry. which i think is great and she has some yarn spun and dyed especially for her shop. very cool. what’s even cooler? her stuff is very affordable. i got these two skeins of cotton chenille by cottage knits for 13$ (together which is a little less than the cyrstal palace i’ve been using for the flower cloths!) the colors this woman’s dyes are really pretty too.

the pink looks a lil brighter here than in person tho.

also i got some great stitch markers from a person who doesn’t even knit! but she is a great friend. thankyou Amy and Anthony! i forgot he made some of them too. what a crafty couple.

thank you for the nice compliments on charisse’s anklet. i am very fond of it, just like the braclets she sent me. i don’t think i have taken them off.

i just love this zippered pouch which i can’t hide anymore either

not much here

Comments (6)

i am still working on a million things it seems. why do i never get to the bottom of my to do list?

i forgot to show y’all the cute little anklet i got from Charisse

it’s very pretty and i have been wearing it for the past few days. i am getting with this learning to make jewelry thing. i am going to try to whip up a few things for some secret internet friends. i have to try hard this week to get them done.

i also have to try to finish lesa’s mixes.  i have a sneaking suspiscion she is probably DONE with my tote bag and i am no where near done with her mixes.

i also have to print and cut 5 more copies of my cd, i realized i didn’t have enough shipping envelopes and they aren’t going out til tomorrow or wed.
rachel no worries you will get yours BEFORE you move i promise. i will send it priority.

my sister and i also spent the afternoon crafting. we bought some material and zippers and made some stuff. she wants to sell them for a few dollars so i can’t show them yet. but we had fun.

i also in a moment of triumph got a subscription to the sampler today. they sold out in 4 minutes. *whew* no shut outs this time.

quirks and irrational fears

Comments (11)

can you tell my favorite color is orange? sometimes i look at my photos and go whoa there’s always so much orange around. also i like greens, cause they go with orange. and that flowercloth is brown, it looks orange or something.

i thought i would waste some time while waiting for nat to come home. and let you guys in on a little bit more about me. like for instance

i have some serious irrational fears. true irrational fears, meaning this stuff REALLY can’t happen but for some reason i am whole heartedly convinced otherwise.
1. i am convinced your belly button can come undone. and my innards will fly out like a can of snakes. i have a serious thing about my belly button, if you touch it it makes me want to vomit. also i threaten you with death. plus this has lead to many intresting conversations with nat on whether or not he will push my guts back in if they fall out. ( see previous conversation somewhere in my archives)
2. if i am driving behind you and you throw a cigarette out and i drive over it i close my eyes for a sec waiting for it to make me explode. i’m so not kidding. i have no idea why i am conviced someday this will make me explode. just sayin’
3. if i am climbing open stairs i usually hurry i am convinced hands will grab at my ankles. so not kidding.

those are my top 3 irrational fears. i know you are thinking, jen you totally insane. I KNOW. I KNOW. i have other quirks too.

like i can’t hold an unbrella. something about it gives me massive anxiety. i can’t have anyone under any circumstance touch the crown of my head. it makes me flinch and i can flinch just thinking about it. this is a problem when i have to get a haircut.

i am very claustrophobic. i tend to close my eyes and hold my breath in elevators. and if people in a bar or rock show press on me or stay too close to me for so long i start to panic. i won’t eat the last part of a sandwich or pizza where my fingers were. i hate pizza crust, but when i am done with it i turn it upside down on my plate and never knew i did this til nat asked me about it.
i had never tried an orange slice until a few months ago. i am 32 yrs old too. nat had to convince me to eat it. i was distracted by all the stringyness.

i also judge a movie by it’s opening titles. i dispise comic sans. i often find futura sexy, and i can talk about type and letterforms and get excited about them.

god help me.
now y’all know how truley strange i am. but i KNOW y’all have quirks too. everyone has some. i’m just convinced i am the only one who has irrational fears.

did ya’ll think i quit knitting?

Comments (5)

knitting content:
i’ve finished the 7 flower face cloths i made for everyone and descided i better make mine or else they would never get done.

i’ve cast on and completed a few ows of the one skein wonder

and i’ve cast on for the bolero

nevermind that i have a sock somewhere i’ve forgotten about and sock yarn for nat i’ve ignored.

i got some cd’s from Ofelia i traded some gifts with her and this is some of the intresting stuff she sent me (click the link for what i sent her!)

i love the little notebook cause i LOVE dogs. but all the little treats are a mystery to me and i’m going to check them out this weekend. her necklace is very beautiful and i will wear it very soon.

another cd from Rachel she was one i traded with from the first swap too. i really like reading her blog and i think she’s pretty crafty. i especially love the embossed little birdie wearing the silly hat.

and last is from Melanie
her cd is awsomely decorated and the theme is bluegrass. since i LOVE LOVE LOVE the banjo i know this is going to rule. for all of you who didn’t know i have a major soft spot for the banjo. she even sent a postcard she illustrated, very cool.

thanks for your intrest in my cd i’m sending out to a few more people next week. again if you want one don’t be afraid to ask. or ask other people if you like their cd’s. i’ve discovered thru emailing some of you that you are just as hooked on trading as i am. haha

i got my frist set of marker mania markers from my partner Jo she is a really prolific knitter and her stuff is quite beautiful. i think you should check out her website. thank you very much Jo, i love them. i’m also currently using a little heart one on my flower face cloth.

my next cd is from Vanessa her cover was sewn! she gets massive points like amy r. did for going a different route than the regular cd case. the second cd is just a bonus cd she made for some dumb boy who was being flakey and she thought i might enjoy it.  thanks vanessa!

and now i am caught up. i am mailing out alot more cd’s today. rachel, peggy, elizabeth, and i am sending both of mine to jenny on the list. for reason’s i will state later.

Comments (5)

ok seriously, if you want a cd of mine, please ask! i made a whole bunch and i feel like i asked a bajillion people for theirs so now’s the time if we didn’t trade. i’m just sending mine out in batches cause i’m still umemployed. it’s easier on the budget that way. so don’t be afraid to email me if you want one. i asked for alot of yours.

here’s some of the ones i’ve received in the past week.
Katy sent me her cd and it’s nat’s favorite color BROWN! i think her website shows off her creativity in a way that beautiful up there with Kathleen that’s why i asked her to share with me. thanks katy! it looks really pretty.

next up a blog i’ve read over the past year or so is Peggy she is a really good knitter and has a beautiful daughter. thank you peggy i’m sending yours out shortly!

Anna has a cool knitting blog and i asked her for her cd:

Erin is another blogger i’ve been reading since the first cd swap as well she sent me both of her cd’s

karin is another partner of mine from the first cd swap she sent me her cd and a special litlle hank of yarn she hand spun and hand dyed. i’ve admired her yarns since i’ve started to read her blog. thank you again karin!

summer jams 2k5

Comments (2)

i never did post my tracklisting, but now that i see quite a few people have received my cd’s i’m going to put it up here….

summer jams 2k5 is basically just that songs i’ve been into or turned onto this summer.

1. leave the biker- fountains of wayne- this is one of my favorite songs of theirs. and i finally heard them sing it live last summer. not a huge fan of them tho.

2. slow fade-teenage fanclub- i’ve always loved teenage fanclub ever since i stormed their tour bus back in 1992 thinking they were the vulgar boatmen’s bus outside the vic. i ate french fries with the drummer and drove two member to JJ pepers for doritos and mountain dew.

3. everyone chooses sides- the wrens- if you aren’t into the wrens you should now be. this band is so good yet a secret.

4. boys better- the dandy warhols- i love the dandy’s they appear in almost every mix i make

5. twin cinema- the new pornographers- this album comes out in 2 weeks. i think it’s going to be good. AC newman from zumpano and Necko case sure sound good together.

6. beaten by the target- the moping swans- this is robert pollard from guided by voices and the bassist’s new project.

7. 99 and a half won’t do- the detroit cobra’s- ok i just won’t shut up about how much i love this band. mostly because they sound like NOTHING out there today. i mean who covers motown stuff sounding like a gargae rock band and do-wop? it’s so perfect i almost hate it!

8. Oualahila Ar Tesninam-Tinariwen- this band played at folk and roots live, and were the only ones there who didn’t speak any english and were from the deserts of africa. they play alot of picking blues and are awsome. their album is online for download too.

9. almost crimes - broken social scene- cool band from canada

10. eat this city!- the thunderbirds are now!- so crazy band that played intonation fest. i love the lyrics to this song alot they make me laugh and should make you laugh too.

11. holland 1945- neutral milk hotel - this song is not my favorite but i do like it alot this summer

12. 60 cycles- the spactacular fantastic- i know nothing of this band i am just happy i found a bunch of their mp3’s, because i like them now!

13. all you need is hate- the delgados- this song is so funny everytime i hear it.

14. the trial of the century- the french kicks- their singer is a pretty boy to look at while he croons.

15. beautiful lawyers- the zincs- this is my DREAMY BOY #1 i’ve posted and i posted him (almost stalked him) at folk and roots in july. oooh la la jim.

16. monkey- low- i figured since russell is the mascot of piddleloop and the cd swap i should put one on for him

17. the road leads where it’s led- the secret machines- you should really like this band by now. they are an awsomely kept secret.

18. man on the corner- morton valance- cool unsigned english band

19. shhh.. -ida- another favorite ida song

20. michigan girls- califone- this is a top califone song. i love this one live so much.

21.smokestack lightnin’- iron and wine- you shouldn’t be able to get enough of these guys they now appear coving the postal service in am M & M commercial

22. the ladybug picnic- sesame street for all you sesame street people out there who can instantaneously re-connect to their childhood thru a song or two.

23. the allagator king- sesame street

those last two were the bonus tracks so i hope you enjoy. i have some pictures i need to take tonight.

three years

Comments (11)

you know three years is a long time. sometimes i wonder wow three years sounds so long, yet why does it just not seem like such a long time afterall? anyways here’s my sappy post for the month…Nathaniel and i have been dating for three years this week.

he will hate this picture because he’s laughng and smiling, two things he doesn’t do ever for pictures. he prefers frowning to any of that.

so i am just going to sap up this sappy post with a few things.  i’m going to list some things

1. despite i don’t like anything good nat still dates me
2. i have now caved and agree with him that EVERYTHING IS BETTER ON THE EAST CAOST well mostly because it IS true
3. i love how he hates doing anything fun, yet he says he loves me because i make him do fun things
4. i love how he HATES talking on the phone, but then says he loves it when i call him.
5. i am a little worried about him not pushing my guts back in if i explode or shooing the vultures away (see other post)
6. there is something to double creativity in a relationship i never knew about
7. he makes me the best mix cd’s
8. he has some very awsome parking skills
9. i love it when he really laughs cause he never really does laugh hard often
10. i love him most because he’s pretty much more of the opposite of me. he’s a very quiet, kind of person and there’s nothing very quiet about me.

there you have it. a somewhat sappy post that i will leave you with for the weekend. i have some stuff i have to photograph and get up here on monday.
and i’ve been tagged i see from Kathleen i will have to put up my answers on monday. i promise.

trades

Comments (1)

i mentioned that my friend Lesa and i are doing a pretty big trade right now. here is one of the things she just made for me. my DPN’s are a little out of control as far as being organized. she made me a little roll and boy is it cute

here is the outside material:

here’s the inside with the flap open

she received two of her 4 cd mixes last nite. she will hopfully get her next to pesonally made 2 cd mixes by next wed if it kills me.

also zander descided to fall asleep on the couch today and i couldn’t resist taking a picture of him because he just was so STILL. he’s only 2 1/2 yrs old and he’s always BUSY BUSY BUSY..so it’s a little odd when he’s not so busy!

blowouts

Comments (2)

i am not the best aunt in the world. if i had my own child i would probably accidentally leave them at a wendy’s. i forgot to bring more than ONE pull up with me today and zander’s blow out ruined jessica and zander’s “going to the park” part of the day. :(

sometimes i get the biggest kick out of what shows up in my website stats under search strings. so just in the beginning of august some people have found piddleloop.com by typing in

1. i ate so much i am going to explode
2. cool names for cd mixes
3. slimey the worm
4. the ladybug picnic song
5. getting eaten by vultures

yes nice to see that my conversation i had with nat about him pushing my guts back in after i explode is a good one. and sesame street seems to be a big draw too. sometimes this just makes me laugh.

i got some cd’s today:
1st is marianne of 12punt3!
i always love her illustrations, while you check out her site download that sock monkey wallpaper and make your desktop cheery!

i LOVE LOVE LOVE the one eye sticker on her envelope, i wished she’d have put an extra one in there!!

marianne was so nice to include some awsome postcards with type on them for me thanks for the extras!!

2nd is from Kat

she sent along some gifts, including 1 inch knitting buttons, and some pretty stitchmarkers, she also makes the buttons! so talk to her if you like them!!

i have listened to quite a few of these already while crafting away on
Lesa’s cd mixes.
i also need to upload all of these and get them on my ipod, which i listen to all the time to in the car.

knitting update: i got some apply colored premiere yarn to make the bolero charisse made from IK. i think this will turn out pretty.

stuff and things post #538457398453

Comments (0)

i know i know stuff and things is one of my most favorite phrases. deal with it. I’m getting some really nicely decorated cd’s from y’all. i’m not kidding. i’m just amazed and i am going to have so much new music to listen to this week it’s not even funny. i’ll share:
1st is from amy s of amyville

2nd is from steve and what i was most amazed by with steve, is that he included in his letter that he knits.  so i asked him what he’s worked on and BOY CAN HE KNIT. he’s told me he’s working on an elaborate aran sweater. i love hearing stuff like this. go steve! he just offered up his cd out of pure generosity.

3rd is from kathleen and her’s is quite beautiful, much like her website. her artwork is most impressive and she included a handmade card and postcard. i am most amazed at her ribbon that has the name of her website on it. genius.

knitting content: no pictures yet..but i finished everyone else’s flower face cloths which were about 5 flowers. so now i am working on my two. i am almost finished with one and started the pedals of the other. i am scheming on making a long sleeved cotton fancy shrug out of “premier” yarn that is softer than a cloud. and i’d like to cast on for this one skein wonder before i die already.

***also guys i didn’t make nat’s sock cat, how many times do i have to tell y’all i can’t sew. i made a few sock dogs that are in my waaay waaay back archives. but they are pretty crudley sewn together. and i only made about 4 of them and again NOT ONE FOR MYSELF. i hate that.

*** also i’d like to give a shout out to my friend lesa who is making some totebags for friends…click on her site under other to see them. we are doing a trade and i am so excited! she is such a swell friend.

g-strings, goats, fair food and music

Comments (4)

not neccesarily in that order. saturday nat and i drove back to northwest indiana to go to erin’s daughter jessica’s b-day party, and the porter country fair. we invited my sister, her boyfriend adam and zander along with us:

nat made friends with a goat:

sheep know the coolest spot is in front of the fan

zander and uncle nat go for a pony ride

we ate alot of fair food, pet alot of cows, and watched rides spin around
i have to give a big thank you to cara who sent me this package out of the blue! i had emailed her a few times tellign her how much i miss ontario canada. i used to date shawn who lived in london, ontario for three years. sometimes i really do miss all the canada teasing and stuff that went on! she sent me this awsome package.
a t-shirt and g-string (gag gift!)
