Renegade Part Three

Comments (6)

I said there’d be al ot on Renegade and here’s the third installment. The people! I wanted to make sure you got your fill on photos and yet could see everyone who lent a helping hand or whom i stalked. So here we go:

I didn’t seem to REMEMBER i had a camera for most of the weekend so the shots of the crafty ladies all seem to be in action, so i apologize to y’all for that ahead of time. First here’s Anne one of the crafty ladies. She is one of Mr. Pickles MASTER AMBASSADOR’S!

I had to post this picture of Anne because if you look carfeully she is talking to a friend (??) who has a knit bag with space invaders on it! This bag is so very cool!

Now Mo wasn’t there saturday she was at a wedding and i didn’t seem to see her when i had my camera out, but i do have one picture of her. She is totally a top notch crafty lady!

Stephanie is also a hardcore crafty lady since she was the only one crafting and using glitter out in the elements! She also has the haircut i want to get.

Stephanie made friends with this little guy all saturday. She kept trying to get him to eat a bagel from her hand. We all some how named him Rusty!

Action shot of Anne, Steph, and Nat

Here’s a picture of your sewing team again this time with me having the worst posture ever

Now who did we stalk?
why Mr. Pickles of course! Nat and I are big fans.

And look who i spied while she wasn’t looking Stevie of Truche! (if you look to the right her mom is in the frame!)

So then we made nat take a picture

A lot of friends came out to show support and to lend a helping hand!
Here’s Jimmy, Lauren, and her friend who was visiting from Seattle (i do not remember her name)

jimmy my official unofficial bro always shows up

joy is here as well she was a great help when we packed up, she watched the important stuff while we packed up! she is in the red

Amy and Anthony stopped by and rested at our table and also bought a button from Nat

Zander was around that weekend too here he is doting still over his uncle nat

and we even had a doggie or two come into the tent, wendy gave away some doggie treats from crafting for critters to this little guy

and last here’s a picture of nat’s coffee cup i thought y’all would get a laugh out of it

Also I don’t know if you noticed but my banner now changes if you refresh. I had nat take some mustache related pictures of me and simon. The Bunny was one of my birthday gifts to nat it’s a Labbit and has detachable pieces for the bunnies mouth. I am sorry to bust out the giant photo posts from hell, but i am leaving to go to philly tomorrow with nat, so y’all can have several days to enjoy. We also have new 12 x 6 pouches up in the store! See y’all when i get back from philly.

I’m going to do a couple of renegade related posts. These will be heavy on the photo content. I’m sorry if you have dial up but my photos are no more than 30k and should load fairly quickly even if you have dial up (like me)

So anyways, if you didn’t already know Piddleloop sewing team and the moustache factory sold our wares at Renegade last weekend with The Crafty Ladies. Here’s an idea of what it looked like if you walked into our booth space:
The crafty ladies banner and fabric flags

To the right Monika & Kristens stuff:

Renegade part one

Comments (2)

I was taking the pictures off my memory stick each day and unloading them on Nat’s computer. In a cloud of exhaustion sunday nite i forgot to get the disc out of his laptop to bring home. You will have to wait til tomorrow for Craft Fair photos. But i promise i will post them and you can see nat, wendy, mo, anne, stephanie and i in all our glory. In the mean time i made some money the week before the fair so wendy and i had some spending money. Check the loot:

First i hit up the crafting for critter’s booth because they were our booth neighbors and several friends has stuff for sale here. When I told Dixie I’d be all over the chicken butts i wasn’t lying. Also pictured is one of Rebecca’s pretty fabric flower pins. I’ve always eyed them and not had money for one. This was my chance to nab one!

Nat bought a ribbon for my car from pomosideshow.com

Next I spied Stevie over at Truche and picked up a pretty new fall necklace. And meet Inky the octopus by Stephanie one of the crafty ladies we shared our booth with.

My letter J tote bag from BANG!

This shirt that is perfect from Im Perfect Articles nat got the best shirt ever according to him that says hating is easy and fun hate hate hate on it with some little drawings.

i got this shirt and i don’t know from what vendor! I forgot to grab a card!

a mirror from my favorite mirror our other booth neighbors

a unique necklace from timber

a bunch of buttons from an artist i am not sure of his website right this second

i also picked up this pie zippered pouch from Jill KillJoy and a flower pin from Honorable Mention

and this SPLUG from Shawnamials (I bought pocket stache a month or so ago and didn’t post him)

ok so check out some of these awesome links and as always support handmade whenever you can.

My sister and I thank each and every one of you who came out, lent a helping hand, perused our booth, ran to get change, or hung out on the picnic table last weekend. We did very well and had a lot of fun. I will be posting a big ass picture post tomorrow!

Touch and GO (or alternately titled giant music picture post from hell)

Comments (3)

Nat says thanks for all the birthday wishes. That was really nice of everyone, especially since it sucks to know people died on that day. Ok no more debbie downer. We went to the 25th anniversary of Touch and Go records this past weekend, also known as the Hideout block party. We go every year, but this year was special cause it was 40 some bands, three days and several bands were reuniting just to play this event. I can say after standing in the chicago streets and sanitation parking lot for 3 days straight i am old. My body is so tired from standing and the cold wind and rain from sunday.
I did on the other hand feel 15 years old again when Pegboy took the stage and i could sing and throw the metal hands to superstar and strong reaction. That just made me long to hear Naked Raygun again tho, and for those of you who were NR fans they are reuniting for a show in Novemeber with 7 seconds, the blue meanies, and then a bunch of other bands i don’t care about. ok highlights:
1.girls vs boys playing their entire t & g album
2. ted leo killing any and all hearing i had friday
3. arcwelder being amazing
4. big black
5. seeing Seam again
6. the Jeff Tweedy sightings
7. Pinback
8. Calexico

ok now for some pictures:
Girls vs Boys (how about some of that hott hott double bass action)

ted leo killing any and all of our hearing:

Now for you Jeff Tweedy Fans..he had the whole clan out saturday and just him and the wife on sunday. NOTE he wasn’t wearing a VIP wristband he just had the plain 3 day one like everyone else that’s kind of re-freshing.

and then my favorite pegboy**note they are all in the 40’s now and note that beer gut!

and for any of you out there who might be Big Black fans it was worth it to see them re-unite even if for 20 minutes.

i didn’t take any pictures of shellac because if i took any more pictures of steve albini my camera would burst into flames.

also the sleater kinney drummer in Quasi: she has perfect rock star drummer hair

i’ll stop boring y’all with my trip back thru my youth of music now. what i didn’t realize tho while growing up outside of chicago all my life was that people would TRAVEL and from far away places to see these bands again. I guess growing up with this stuff playing all the time 30 min away just didn’t make me realize how good i had it growing up.

I am going to die in an explosion of fabric and ribbon before saturday and sunday. I hope someone out there (preferably erin when you see the ribbon streaming by your window) will come to make sure they find my body (then grab what you want) I can’t wait to meet some of you saturday and i hope if you live in chicago or close to chicago you will come to wicker park and say hello this weekend.

Here’s to another year of you frowning and complaining and looking miserable in every picture! (i love you even tho you look miserable in every picture)

taken this weekend at the three day event of touch and go records 25th anniversary.

and for good measure a picture of us taken just after or before Seam played. Thanks Lauren.

photo heavy post

Comments (7)

Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Here’s what’s been going on around these parts while my computer was all broken and stuff.
First up dogs.
Our neighbor’s daughter is moving back here from Arizona. Penny owns some cool dogs. She has a bassett hound named Lucy and a Great Dane named Kelso. The two came over to run in the backyard one day.
Two bassett hound butts

Check out Kelso’s brow area that’s one serious expression.

All three dogs (Samuel the beagle is hiding under a chair. she is cranky and not social)

and for good measure a few pictures from lucy’s photoshoot last week.
DROOL!

Her perfected saaad bassetthound look.

Now I had to finish a deadline for a client and I had to go use Nat’s Mac. So Zander and I went to the city.
After i sent the file to the printer we headed downtown and met up with Amy from purplepinkandorange for lunch and some looking at the bean

we then met up with Uncle Nat once he was finished with work

and then we walked over the river and looked at some boats

Zander is fascinated with trains and i think his favorite thing ever was riding the El.
Nat and I the following weekend went to see Califone play a street festival, and then the Hideout the next night.

this past weekend my dad put his retirement project (his fishing boat) into the water to take everyone out on the lake for the Gary Air Show.
nat and i on the bow as we back out of the boat slip in portage public marina

nat and zander

captain dad

some barnstormer bi-plane guy

the air force thunderbirds where the main attraction, lets say they didn’t disappoint. Also i have NO IDEA how the hell i actually got photos. By the time i’d spot them in my viewfinder they were gone. Thank god for the motor drive option on my fancy digital camera

and a view of our wake coming in after a long day out on lake michigan

So that’s what’s been going on while my motherboard was ordered and replaced. Along with a whole lot of crafting for the renegade craft fair coming up.
Nat also won the Plummy for best in 1-inch buttons, so we’d like to thank everyone who voted. YAY!
*whew* that should keep y’all busy for a few days.

a thank you that is a long time coming

Comments (8)

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO VOTED FOR NAT AND ALL THE DIY BUSINESSES FOR THE PLUMMIES!

Sometime ago right before my computer died, Carol & Arrow, sent a package to the hounds and me. You see Samuel and Lucy have birthdays this summer. We don’t know when they were born so we go by when they found us. Samuel is june and lucy is the end of august.  Arrow being a fellow beagle hound sent the girls some bark barks, which they seemed to enjoy. I was blown away by Carol’s kindness in this package.

she sent a cupcake holder, a homemade pin cusion, flower pin i so adored on her bloggidty blog, handmade coasters, her favorite candy, yummy peanut brittle, pens and markers, snoopy stickers, hello kitty, body butter and so so so many awesome little things. Thank you so much for the awesome box-o-loot carol and arrow.

i also got some stuff from Michele, who owns a little business called Sweet June She is a greyhound lover (june is her doggie) and makes handmade toiletries. After hearing major raves of her stuff at the new york renegade she sent me a few things. So far they are awesome. Check her out.

Thank you to Erin & Jessica who hung out with me yesterday on two occasions. You two brightened up my week. Especially those THREE, yes count them THREE, hugs from the kidlette! Thanks so much. I will be posting some pictures of awesome things erin has gifted to me on a post soon to come of my favrote things from people this summer.

And last right now happy birthday to Lucy. We’ve had her one year. You are a silly hound. You always give that sad bassett hound face, yet have the prettiest brown eyes...when we can see them! You chase the vacuum, you always want to play with the cranky beagle who wants nothing to do with you, you MOOOO when you stretch, and you talk when you’re hungry. Happy Birthyday Lucy Dog!
