New Friend Of P

Comments (3)

Please welcome our newest friend of P….Katy!!! (fondly called Katy the money lady!) She has put together kits you can feel good about learning to spin on. I know when i got my kit it came with such beautiful “fancy” handpainted fleece that made me really nervous and i didn’t want to ruin it with my learning to spin. So i never touched it and it gave me a lot of anxiety. Here for $20, you not only get a nice Babe spindle with leader attached, but you get 4oz of Blue Faced Leincaster AND then you get two more 2 oz fluffs of various different fleeces. She has Alpaca, hand dyed BFL in a couple of colors, shetland, superwash merino, and domestic wool!!
Plus it comes with instructions, Katy is writing up on how to attach the leader and how to blend two colors without tools AND if all that isn’t enough you get a cute unbleached cotton drawstring bag to keep it all in. What a deal for only 20$! This makes for a great gift for someone on your xmas list who is thinking about wanting to learn to spin and it won’t break your budget. Please check out the EIGHT kit’s Katy has offered here

Awesome mail call and several announcements

Comments (5)

I got some really cool mail Friday and this week from some really cool people you should really be checking out.  First up one of my favorite crafty people who can do amazing things with sculpy clay!  Amy from all the way over in arizona, land of warm this time of year. She sent along a little package just because and it is quite fun. I especially LOVE the poo pad of paper and sanrio pill box (i can now cart my vitamins with me!) Thanks so much amy!

and then i FINALLY ordered something fun from my top notch friend Stephanie over at Spritley Goods See since Katy showed me the spindle i figured i could finally get one of Steph’s batts. I got this pretty pretty green fiber. And if you look close you can see the SPARKLES in it! She is totally top notch and you should go look at her beautiful yarns and fibers NOW.

and last i couldn’t help myself and when Amy of good to be girl had a sale on holiday stitch markers look what arrived today!

Now here’s the announcements! The Piddleloop Sewing Team will be at Holiday Renegade December 9th and 10th! Yes if you are in Chicago please come and check out all the fun indie crafters. We will be sharing a small space table with Nat. He will have his paintings and the moustachefactory buttons!

And we’d like to introduce something new on each and every project pouch we are offering. Each one will automatically come with a zipper pull/stitch marker. You can remove the lobster claw from the jump ring and use it as a marker in your knitting…when you aren’t using it simply slide the lobster claw back on and clip it to your zipper like this one:

Also we will be adding some new things tot he shop today and after Thanksgiving. We have a brand spankin’ new project pouch for you! The goldfishy fabric has made it’s way into our production! Here’s one we custom made for a good friend. We’ve also added a few of them to the shop!

Also I am adding a new friend of P. Katy gave me some spindle kits. You can now get fiber AND a spindle in a drawstring bag for 20$ PLUS she is also giving you a choice of two colored fluffs of fiber that you can pick from for each kit. This is a very good deal and a nice addition to our shop. I will be adding them tonight and tomorrow and friday, so check back! These make great gifts for the holidays and as per usual around here I always give friends of P designers 100% of the item.

So everyone have an awesome holiday. I’ll check back around here maybe friday or so!

giant picture post from hell part 90348238479237432

Comments (6)

Thanks for all of your nice comments on Nat’s paintings. He is quite talented and now i think he really knows it and i’m not the lame girfriend who has a degree in art history telling him this for 4 years. (altho we disagree on the most important artist of the 20th centry, we can literally argue about this for hours, but that’s another story) Also thank you to some of you who expressed an intrest in nat’s paintings and emailed him. Perhaps this will inspire him to paint more often.

ok, i’ve finally caught up with my deadlines, avoided the raging flu so far, celebrated my mom’s birthday yesterday (happy birthday mom), shot most of the new products. Cut fabric for a commissioned order. So now i have some pictures for you. A lot of pictures to be exact. You see at the craft fair last week we got a double space since it’s the school fundraiser. So we had twenty feet of table space. The tables were so long once we set up. So we just filled it right up.

Nat’s pins

Stevie’s jewelry from Truche and lesa’s needle rolls

some of our trinket items in the suitcases

some of erin’s items and jill’s necklaces

some of katy’s spindle kits and fleece (i’ll be adding these to the store as soon as i get some copy from katy! I’m very excited she wants to offer these kits!

here’s some people around our table that day:
my sister and nat doing what he does best in EVERY SINGLE PICTURE

my mom and joy who were just shopping

katy and jill ( i swear i took like 4 pictures and all of them were out of focus except this one)

jill’s little girl (i’m sorry i forgot her name!) she was modeling one of our sock monkey bibs (a.k.a trying to take it off!)

i bought some pretty roving from Katy since she was patient and showed me once again the park and draft method on my spindle. oooooh way way soft alpaca

and three colors i like

and here’s the best thing ever, katy came bearing gifts. ORANGE GIFTS. she is super thoughtful and sweet and i really enjoyed spending time with her.
a pretty flower

a yarn tupperware container, cotton ease and some orange yarn

wait for it
wait for it
oh yeah and HANDSPUN orange and black yarn made by KATY HERSELF, she totally rules

today i even started some xmas knitting…LOOK ACTUAL KNITTING. i haven’t knit anything real in 6 months.

Nat’s Paintings

Comments (7)

I"m working on a lot of stuff here. Deadlines, flu EVERYWHERE, getting a large order out, and pictures from the weekend. I promise i’m working on it. In the meantime I know i always put nat’s REAL art portfolio link up but y’all may not know to click on it thinking it’s just the moustache factroy link. Well it’s not. Anyways here’s some of his paintings he had last weekend for sale. I think they are all for sale except for the kitty riding the magic carpet.

Sheep (these small ones are only 20$!!!)

Birdie

Mr. Horse

Mr. Penguin In the Snow

Magic Carpet

Kitty Sleeping

Mr. Horse Visits the Desert

Ginormous Head

I just thought y’all might like to see how talented my little Nathaniel is and how awesome his paintings are. Cause hearing your girlfriend say it over four years is lame or something.

***NOTE- Nathaniel has his email on his portfolio webpage, you can email him because he hasn’t listed any of them he just finished them last weekend. But i am sure he would tell you dimensions and prices which are cheap by any means of paintings by email. He also likes email that is not spam, cause he gets nothing but spam and messages from me!***

Hanne’s Package!

Comments (2)

I’m very happy to report Hanne got her package from me with the amy butler intown bag! look at all the goodies she got. Plus she wrote a few lines of english on her blog post this time. She is so funny, and sweet. Google language tools need to incorporate Norwegian!! Check out her post! Looks like someone in her household is enjoying the chicken poop lip balm too!

Yay, looks like Democrats took the House. Congrats to Nancy, as first female Speaker of the House. Women everywhere republican or democrat are proud. Let’s go senate! Still too close and not everything is in according to CNN this morning. So keeping my finger’s crossed this bleeding heart liberal will be glued to CNN today!

International Swaps and stuff and things

Comments (5)

ooooh look…..

ooooh another language it came from far away! Yay!

ooooh pretty stripey paper!

ooooh my wrists are always freezing, like the rest of me! These are purdy!

and LOOK LOOK at this perfect shade of baby-shit-yellow mohair! isn’t it dreamy?

and now for the rest of the package…some zippers and some candy and a little norway flag patch! look what they are sitting on…the whole reason for this trade…see that black and white pouch?

why i did a trade with Hanne. Hanne makes pouches too. She liked ours so much she decided to improve upon it and make it all different. I wrote to her and asked if we could trade. She got the Amy Butler Intown black and white bag and all the goodies i posted last week. When she gets my package i’ll link so you can see all the goodies i sent to her.  She has the cutest kids and beautiful knitting..I just feel like a stalker because i can’t read her blog, i just peep every week. here’s her totally awesome pouch.

and here’s what makes it all different…the inside flap!

Thanks so much Hanne! I loved doing this trade with you and had fun.

Nat has his moustachefactory buttons being sold at Rotofugi we got to drop them off this weekend and buy some cool toys. I picked up some cool limited artist series HINT MINTS with tin done by Base Man. And my new favorite little blind-box toy..a Yummy Donut keychain by Kid Robot. I now have four of these and two are doubles. If you want to trade let me know i have two pink and brown donuts!

and Rachel had posted about these moo cards a few weeks ago. Scroll down to MOO CARDS. Which i thought was funny because sitting on nat’s table was a box of these very same cards. He ordered them for when he sells his paintings at the craft shows. They are very cool little mini cards and perfect for artists. Nat’s vibrant colors and bold strokes look nice in these. Here’s some of my favorites..
you will see the infamous Mr. Horse and Kitty our embroidered animals have been inspired from his paintings!

Thanks for all of the entertaining comments on the post i am NOW going to refer to as “stupid republicans post”...i’ve managed to save all the yarn fromt he big scattered messes. I now have to tend to the mess of the hank. This is most challenging because it’s quite messed up but still sort of in it’s shape. Ugh. so many tangles. But i’m saving all of it, even if it’s been cut..it will all still knit up just fine if i can get it untangled!!

Bad Ideas

Comments (11)

NEVER EVER….

Get the bright idea that you can pull out a pretty handpainted hank of merino sock yarn from your stash. AND because you don’t own a swift think you can successfully use a 3 yr old to wind the yarn. Under normal circumestances this would usually work just fine. BUT as we were winding along just fine some Republican party canadate for congress in my district HAD to RING THE DOORBELL in a HOUSE WITH TWO HOUNDS. This caused the beagle AND the bassett to RUN THRU THE YARN and for zander to drop the hank to the floor. Now i have a giant heap of spaghetti mess. And i do mean a real mess people. I’ve got about 250 yeards wound. And about another 250 yeards of spaghetti mess. Good thing i bought this EXPENSIVE sock yarn last year cause kissing that 20$ goodbye is a little easier. *sniff* *sniff*

** i’d also like to note that the Republican’s are campaigning hard in this area. All week each time i’v put zander down for his nap 20 min later some Republican party member is ringing the doorbell waking him up. And now i can properly blame that party for ruining perfectly pretty pumpkin pie colored sock yarn!
