color

There have been some bright colors around this week. Perhaps all in preparation of spring...or maybe not.
First for anyone who wants to know what a Flip Flap is? It’s a little toy plant that moves using a light sensor. You can’t kill it. It won a design award and my friend Jimmy gave me one ages ago. You can check it out here or google it.
I walked into Nat’s apt today to find two new flip flaps around. I don’t know why, but they sure are cute. One is still in the package, but the other was sitting next to my flip flap.

Next a package arrived early this morning. Thanks to Carol over at Celadon Cupcake for sending me some really super cute little dishsoap aprons, yo-yo flowers, and some candy. SHe is so thoughtful and super cute. I am a sucker for flower pins. but aren’t they all pretty? I even enjoyed the little comic about dogs she included!! Thank you carol!

Also check out this new purse i sewed up for Erin! It looks so buttery in the sun. I know she will like it. She gave me that wonderful bracelet in orange i posted awhile back. That was an awesome trade.

I’m planning on sewing up another one of these in a different fabric for my cousin, Michelle. She really liked the kitty bag i made for her at xmas time, so i figure she’d like a more serious and pretty one.

A bit of sock knitting AND a bit-o-green. I’m not Irish, nor do i pretend to be in March. But so i won’t get blog pinched, i’ll post some green.

The pattern is the cable twist. I also learned i was doing this WRONG. I’ve since re-cast on. (thanks erin) The yarn is from KinderedSpirits.

On saturday I’m going to hang out with Katy and Anne might drop by to hang and craft. I made a little sock needle DPN wallet for Katy. I hope she will like it. She liked this blue fabric so i paired it with brown. I’ve also used heat bonded velcro to work the ribbon flap that holds the stitch markers. I also made it so it will hold lengths of 6” or 7” DPN’s. I also added stitch markers made by Erin, since Katy has met her a few times. I’m still toying with the idea of making a few of these for the shop, still kind of unsure though. I’m making a few for a friend who is going to give some to her secret pals in some swaps. So have a good weekend, i hope yours is filled with color.

Yay!  What a perfect needle case-wallet-thing.  I am super excited that it is mine, and that there is something from Erin, and that you are going to come over tomorrow and help finish up this bag that has been languishing for about 18 months.

See you around 2pm?
