Do you ever

buy xmas presents say in june and then put them away and come december you start tearing apart your place looking for them? welcome to my world. I was going thru my gifts piling them up to see who i’ve bought enough for and so on when i remembered i bought some handmade items back in june for my close friend and can’t find them. 2 hrs later and a giant mess i manage to find them tucked away in a target bag in the closet. sheeeesh.
i’ve whipped up my second mary jane in noro sans crocheting and a couple of hats that are xmas presents for friends. I have a few more scarves i need to whip up on my 17’s for nat’s 94 yr old grandmother and his other grandmother. I’d like to make a scarf for his aunt too but i’m afraid at this rate when we fly i’m going to need another suitcase for all the gifts. I’m not sure how to keep everything portable to Philly. yikes. We bought plane tickets this weekend and if any of you plan on flying this holiday better buy your tickets soon cause they are expensive. I look forward to another NYC in the christmastime trip.
this months self portrait tuesday is a theme i have explored for years in my photography. It’s become something i do unconsciously. I take alot of pictures of myself in reflective surfaces. I like the not so very involved themes. sorry about novemeber but i will be putting them up on the theme this month.
sorry no pictures but i’m charging the camera. I have a question for anyone out there. i have to knit lucy a dog sweater and she’s rather long, quite long…like four feet long and only 4 inches off the ground. I was thinking of making her a topper with just the strap on the belly so it’s easy to get her in and out of the coat. but i’m afraid her belly will get cold since it’s so low to the snow. i’m looking at the new dog sweater books, but don’t know which to buy. Anyone have any suggestions out there? anyone ever knit a sweater for a LONG dog?
got any pointers?

I’m totally with you on the early shopping thing. I have this trunk in my room that I put gifties in all throughout the year. Where is it now? Burried under 2 plastic totes and other stuff in my room. I’ll have to dig it out some time soon to finalize my xmas list. AND my mom just asked me to knit 3 scarves for her friends at work. PLUS I’m working on like 4 other gifts plus mitten and a hat for myself. Will I ever be able to fit shopping in?

See? This is why Erin brings everything home and wraps it right away (well that and because she’ll give it to the intended reciepent and then feel she has to go get another present for them).
I on the other hand am definitely a last minute kind of shopper… Every year I swear I’m not going to put myself through this again and every year I do.
Someday I’ll learn :)
luv, C
