Giving again…

My totally awesome friend Lauren’s mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is shaving her head for her mom on her birthday on October 24th.She is also raising money for her shaving event for her mother and in honor of her grandmother who did pass on from breast cancer. Lauren is a super bright person, her laughter alone is enough to make you smile. (She also has the uncanny knack of finding you at an event with 500 people within the first 5 min you arrive, i STILL have no idea how she does that) Here’s a photo of lauren and i:
We made four bags to donate 100% of the proceeds to lauren’s firstgiving page. These bags will be in our shop and at Yarncon, or until they are sold.SPARKLY Day of the Dead Glitter Skulls with Pink zipper, Pink lining, and Pink ribbon zipper tabs. Cost of the bag is $35 and 100% will be donated to Lauren’s firstgiving page.

Also my friend Chan is going to be having some contests to celebrate many things he’s happy about in october. Her dogs have a certain color, Sissy the basset hound is purple and gretchen her jack russel is Pank. We’re donating several bags as prizes to Chan. We love her and her dogs. Anything we can for miss sissy and gretchie. So here’s a few of the items i’m sending over to Chan.Please check out her blog to find out how you can win stuff during the month of Oct
We’re vending over at YarnCon on October 17th, 2009. If you live in the chicago area or near please come down and check it out. It is fun and full of yarny goodness. The girls who coordinate the event do a fantastic job.

I am at a loss for words.
The generosity everyone has exhibited in this crappy economy is just… wonderful.
If anyone wants to come to the shearing, just show up at the Beachwood Inn at 7 for cupcakes and the like on 10/24. My mom will be there, and my sister is doing the shaving. It will be awesome and I can’t wait to hang out with my friends and my mom and everyone for my birthday.
And the money everyone has helped me raise will help support a lot of families and people with cancer. That’s the most important thing.
