knitting/crocheting woes

Comments (5)

*** EDITED sorry about complaining about such woes. Don’t you just have those days, weeks, months where everything you try to do just ends up all wrong? It’s like the universe is trying tot ell you something...and it isn’t good.

ok. i HAVE been knitting and crocheting, really. BUT like the world gangs up on me so does the knitting universe too. Latley everything i do and spend time on is all wonky and wrong or i am so confused i cna’t figure it out and get all bummed out.

problem 1. puchitomato’s nina was nice enough to share her POO pattern with me. But when i made it it looks nothing like her picture. hmm. maybe the mistake i found in her pattern wasn’t a mistake with the numbers at all. maybe i am just not meant to crochet cute poo? who knows. anyways i crocheted it twice and didn’t get what’s in the picture, so i give up on that one.

problem 2. i get the cute cute new book by nickey epstein of knitted flowers, and i am absolutley confused and baffled by this rather simple flower pattern that only consists of 6 rows. Yet i cannot understand it for the life of me enough to make one. i am also confused on the size amongst other things. i also tried another easy pattern in there that consisted of only 4 rows. and i did something wrong too. sometimes i think the universe is telling me i cannot make cute things.

aside from that have a happy rabbit day.

and really sorry about the crankypants sort of post, but i am just so frustrated right now.

You’ve made a cute website!

And I know nothing about crochet (although I wish I did) but I can knit.  Want to run the flower pattern past me and see if I’ve got any ideas?  I’m a pretty basic knitter, so I might not be much help at all, but sometimes an additional perspective makes all the difference.

Also - check out KnittingHelp.com.
I love this woman - she explains virtually everything - and has accompanying videos!

I haven’t had a chance to do the rundown on the whole pattern yet.  Went to Lake Shaffer today, but I am SURE that the instructions I sent you are right.  I just need to work one up to make sure.

I’m sorry to hear your frustated.  Runny poo?  Stringy poo? Poo does come in all sizes and shapes.  :)

Hi Jen, hang in there! I was halfway done with the heel of my Mary Jane slipper when I realized that I was only decreasing on one side...whoops! And my knitting progress is so slow as it is. Anyway, you are not alone in your frustrations!

And if you feel like taking a break from the yarn, make felt flowers! Just cut out five felt petals with pinking shears, cut out five fabric petals a bit smaller (no pinking) and glue them on the felt, sew the petals together with a button in the middle. Then sew a pin to a round piece of felt and sew that on the back of your flower. I think I saw got the idea from crafster. Let me know if it doesn’t make sense!

You could ask the Crochet Dude. His link is on my site. Good Luck!
