portastatic was really good and well worth making the trek to the bottle to see, but i am a little miffed now that i go to their site and see they were SUPPOSED to be on tour with YO LA TENGO and the chicago date was the ONLY DATE WITOUT YLT...ummm okay WANKERS!..no really. Mac couldn’t have bent over enough while rocking out on his little guitar, i had a really nice spot to view it all. and while i promised nathaniel i wouldn’t run away with Mac or travis from the dismemberment plan..i was probably lying. heh heh. my major complaint about the bottle everytime i go my eyes burn for 2 days.ugh.

the sun is shining and i see the mail lady pulled up to the aptartment without any long sleeves on, that’s a good sign. i may venture out soon. tonight is knitting class number two. the whole class is a joint venture between 3 mother’s and daughter sets..i am the only orphan...the teacher, kate says AWWW LOOK THIS WHOLE CLASS IS MADE UP OF MOTHER DAUGHTER TEAMS! and then when i introduced myself i was horridly sick and hacking to death anyways all i said was AND I AM THE ORPHAN....ugh. i still can’t purl in this continential style with out getting tangled up. this could be bad...very bad. but i did a nice swatch of just knit stitch yesterday. i only dropped 2 stitches.

today i am going to

today i am going to go see Portastatic, at the empty bottle a place i haven’t been to in so long. i can’t even remember the last show i saw there. last semester of school about killed me i didn’t have a spare moment to see any shows from august til january! so now it’s back to the bottle...we wanted to see Ted Leo but turns out those tickets were 1 cent and sold out rather quickly, along with the Jeff Tweedy tickets. i hate chicago sometimes...sometimes it’s impossible to get tickets to something..reminds me of the early 90’s and trying to get Fugazi tickets in chicago! it was easy in indianapolis and bloomington to get Fugazi tickets but chicago, never.

i am going to have lunch toay with Jimmy, longtime friend basically the brother i’ve never had. which will be so nice, with the birth of my nephew and being sick i haven’t seen jimmy in a long ass time or so it seems. i miss him alot.

I AM DYING TO GO TO THIS PLACE 150 ft wall of WOOD TYPE. it would be a shrine. good god. i’m still awaiting someone with screenprinting talents to make me a TYPE NERD shirt. maybe they have them there!

ugh, go away cold weather

ugh, go away cold weather and snow. seriously, i am a little sick of seeing icy snow. today on the way home from the city i saw a 4 car crash n’ burn on the freeway. 4 cars were left smoldering while there were 3 firetrucks and a tow truck..this was all in the loop part of the Kennedy, right by the Adam’s exit so close to the sears tower. good god that stuff is scarey.

i got a wonderful card in the mail today from Kristen whom i know from chicago, a chartruse card with a red envelope. it says happy spring and has a dandelion on the front. i was with her when we bought card making supplies at this awsome place

our dog had to have surgery AGAIN on her knee she keeps blowing out her knee chasing after squirrels.

ok this system is definatly screwed up..i know i have posted 3 times since that shoes post and they are simply gone....OK...stupid blogger trying to make me lose my mind. that’s probably their plan yeah right. my knitting class is showing me to knit all backwards from what i know...and i hate work right now. every 6 months or so my workplace becomes retarded with power and they screw everything up. this will probably only last a month or two tops.

it’s kind of cold out

it’s kind of cold out again. and it’s threatening rain. i have to work from 3-11 and then again at 7 am. i am tired and down and i think the routine of things is not helping. i rented a dvd last nite The SHipping News and enjoyed it, but it was a pretty depressing story. i should have found a comedy. even that wouldn’t lift me from my doldrums.

i like when it’s warm

i like when it’s warm enough to have my windows open. getting the winter funk out of your place is so good. i was changing the water for my bamboo today and my sister gave me the chemistry flask’s they are all in. i was thinking about the last time i was at my sister’s last week and saw that she was killing her bamboo i gave her in september as a house warming gift. now the point of me giving her the lucky bamboo is that it’s nearly IMPOSSIBLE to kill, yet her’s is turning yellow and dying. she said it wasn’t getting enough light, but i told her that’s the point of this plant it can grow and thrive in the dark, so it doesn’t really need ALOT of light. she had it in a shaded room. i just think she has inherited my mother’s black thumb of DEATH. when i lived in bloomington and had huge marble window-sills i used to have a whole rainforest in my apt. plants grew so well on those window ledges, i miss them. i gave them all to my friend heather when i moved. she lived in a house with a porch and she had a green thumb so i knew they’d be well taken care of.

i got the call that i was accepted into the Sheep’s Clothing’s beginning knitting class. you see when i called to regiester for the classes that start in APRIL they said it was closed already and that 5 people including me wanted in. they were going to consider it and let me know. well at 50$ a pop i guess they thought 250$ was worth it so they let us in and will do the class with 12 instead of 7. so every thursday i get to learn to knit. even tho i already know a few things. this way i don’t have to keep trying to figure this out on my own. and this class is in Valpo, and is alot cheaper than the classes in chicago. Knitter’s Niche holds classes starting at 100$-150$ and that’s just too much for my budget.

i am doing so much laundry today that i wonder where it all was hiding?...i thought i just did laundry last week, guess i just did bedding and nothing else. argh. i need to go to the post office and mail some stuff out, some much needed stuff needs to go in the mail.

the drive home from the

the drive home from the city was awfully quick today as opposed to every other tuesday afternoon for eons. i am beginning to wonder about the kennedy in chicago and what it has against me. the drive up sunday was TERRIBLE..i know it was sunny and 70 degrees out but still a dead stop on the kennedy OUTSIDE of the city is awful and only going 5mph all the way til the western exit was nerve-racking. i have been lacking in motivation for anything latley i sure hope warmer (somewhat) weather will help kick my butt into gear or something. i feel like i have been dragging for weeks now.

i miss nat alot latley but it is selfish of me to say that because he has gotten freelance work for now 3 weeks straight and i can’t be upset that he is earning steady money. i just am a little sad we can’t spend more time together.

mmmm the temp was 65

mmmm the temp was 65 yesterday and i of course had to work from 7am til 3. then drive to chicago..BUT i did sit outside for 20 min when i got home and it was soooo nice to not wear a coat and scarf. you can breathe deeply and feel the warm air and know spring is around the corner..i almost HATE this because you then know because this is CHICAGO that it will get COLD again in a few days. you see in chicago spring usually lasts about a week or so...temps around here go from 30 degrees to 90 in a matter of about 2 weeks...usually in may..it’s strange but happens every year. so i know this will come to an end.

and speaking of SPRING...there’s some spring cleaning to be done here at Nat’s. he’s not a dirty boy..but he lets dust bunnies the size of texas live and thrive in his apt. they have formed dust bunnie gangs and claimed their turff. i have bought 25$ worth of cleaning products and crap to spring clean from top to bpttom this apt and rid it of dust bunnies once and for all.
