THANK YOU INDIANA

Comments (6)

For the first time in 44 years

INDIANA WENT BLUE!

For the first time since 1996**

PORTER COUNTY WENT BLUE!!!

**apprarently Porter County voted for the Republican presidential candidate in every election from 1856 until 1996 with Clinton’s victory. Then continued with the bleeding of red until today.

THANK YOU INDIANA*

* I forgive Indiana voters for giving that wanker Mitch Daniels yet another term, only because Indiana went blue, next time around i will not be so kind reguarding the Gov. race.

Rally Time!

Comments (8)

I have been volunteering for the Obama Campaign for the past 3 weeks. We’ve been doing GOTV (Get Out The Vote) big time over here in Northwest Indiana! I have been a part of it. I am also working all morning til the evening today, i’m a turf cutter and i have to print a boatload of data. So i got to do something new in Indiana this time around..VOTE EARLY! It was pretty cool. I voted 2 weeks ago and the line was short. Let’s just say i hadn’t felt THAT satisfied voting since i voted for the first time for Clinton in 1992.

Anyways, I went to the Rally that was held in Highland, Indiana. That is about 20 min away from where i live. I had a ticket cause i’m a volunteer and let’s just say that all of that volunteering paid off big time. I was no more than 75 feet away from the podium. I was standing right near the flags where everyone stood waiting to speak and Obama ran out from. You could see the motorcade, the bus (had the bulls game on) and police with canines and loads of secret service. On the ticket was the whole Democratic Ticket running in Indiana. I got to shake Jill Thompson’s hand (dem canadate for gov) and i was jumping up and down and calling my mom saying I GOT TO SHAKE THE HAND OF SOMEONE I FREAKIN’ VOTED FOR!!! It got better...after his speech i was right against the baracades and he went along and shook our hands. So i also got to shake Senator Obama’s hand and I said Thank you to him. He replied with a YOU’RE WELCOME! and i have to say one thing...that smile REALLY is ear to ear when he’s right in front of you and it’s infectious. You just smile for miles when he’s right in front of you. I was energized after heaing the whole Dem ticket speak on halloween! So yeah anyways..i’ve been bisy so long time no write..instead enjoy these pictures…

check out the frown

Just after he shook my hand

row one!

and since i went to the rally alone, these are the two awesome friends i made. Pam & Mary were loads of fun, i really enjoyed meeting them and i hope they like the pictures too!

Want a easy* chance to win some Wollmeise sock yarn?

Comments (2)

My good friend Kristy and Tom are walking in the Chicago AIDS RUN/WALK 2008! Now you say what does this walk have to do with Wollmeise? Well Kristy works for a law firm that works for Non-Profit and works with the AID Foundation. So 100% yes you read that, 100% of the funds she will raise will go to this project that provides free civil legal aid to those with HIV / AIDS. Now that there’s breast cancer awareness and yellow ribbons on cars everywhere to support the troops..i find that AIDS Awareness has been kind of lost over the years. Now is your chance to WIN some Wollmeise and matching Piddleloop bags in a raffle Kristy is doing to raise money for her walk. (remember 100% people!) PLEASE GO HERE TO SEE THE PRIZES AND HOW TO MAKE A DONATION!

The raffle officially starts September 2, 2008 and ends Friday September 19, 2008 at 5pm.
A raffle entry will cost $5 each,
6 entries for $25 - Bronze level donation
13 entries for $50 - Silver level donation
25 entries for $100 - Gold level donation
75 entries for $250 - Platinum level donation
Each prize is as pictured.
Winners will be drawn promptly after the end of the raffle.
Winners will be drawn in order and will be able to pick their prize in order they were drawn.
The prizes will be shipped on Monday September 22, 2008.

** easy cause she told me if i were to enter right now my chances are good to win me some Wollmeise!

Another year…

Comments (22)

First week of August six years ago i went out with Nat. He’s been my partner in crime ever since.

Here’s to the boy who frowns more than he does anything else

Here’s to forced smiles when i want you too

for cracking me up all the time by taking bad my space type pictures

For practicing to be old and bench sitting with me

For allowing me to steal your camera’s remote when i want to

For letting me take 93492873842 pictures of you before i get a good one

Thanks for being that boy who likes brown too much, only wears stripey socks with hi-top chucks, always opens the packages i can’t, takes away the sharp knife when i whield one to open said packages, and for being my partner in crime. Here’s to many more years of all of that.

Zander graduated from pre-school tonight.

Here’s Wendy (my sister), Zander, and Adam all happy he got thru it!

and here’s the three peas in a pod: zander, jake, and brandon

Nathaniel and I are leaving for las Vegas next thursday. The shop will be shut down from wednesday til the following wednesday. We will not be doing custom orders or shop sewing until i return. We are going for a wedding, Nat’s step-sister is getting married. Nat bought a chocolate pinstripe suit and will be sporting his chuck taylors a la David Tennant Dr Who style. Me..i am not sure yet what i’m wearing since i have a few options. All of which are black. This is a non-black tie wedding. I will be posting a few pictures of us all dressed up thought...i never see nat in a suit. Anyways...the piddeloop sewing team will have an update on friday May 30th. I do not have a time yet..so watch for the mailing list email.

love or big ass picture post 438765837465473884

Comments (17)

Last post was Happiness, this post is all about love. I’m talking warm and fuzzy feeling love folks. I am often sending out packages from all of our orders. I tripped over a box when i left to go vote last Tuesday. When i returned i opened it up. What was inside was so thoughtful and so sweet it brought me to tears.

I got a box filled with love from the city of brotherly love itself PHILLY! Mariss & Sherry sent along some gifts to just say THANKS and HI! They are so awesome. First thanks to Mariss she sent along some Herr’s Black pepper and sea salt potato chips. These are my number one favorite east coast only flavor of potato chip. You can’t even get something remotely close here at home...we’ve tried. TASTYKAKES! Apparently these are only made in Philly, according to Nat. He also says they are FAR superior to hostess or little debbie or anything like that.

Then she packed some pretty gocco prints on stationery she’d made:

and the crowning glory? a BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL ink/watercolor drawing of our bags. One bag is her own, and a few are sherrys and other’s when they meet up at Rosie’s to knit.

Thank you SO MUCH for such a kind and special gift mariss! I will be finding a frame for it.

Sherry sent along some green and yellow things. She saw that i was yearning for summer and a lot of yellow and green items have been catching my eye. She sent along some pretty yarn from black bunny fibers it has a small bit-o-silk in it and it is so soft.

Then from her etsy shop a special set of BASSET HOUND stitch markers and DPN holders and a sachet of moth guard!

Thank you so much for your kindness girls. mmmmmmm tastycakes!

I also had a bit-o-help for some Red Rock Fiber Works Yarn Love, via a yarn elf. You see, Mary-Kay only sells wholesale at the moment and you have to enlist yarn elves who work at places like Colorful yarns in Colorado to buy it for you and send it all the way to Indiana!

look at the cute drawings that were on my package! Thank you Stacey, you really are wonderful and kind. Now what was inside?

Left to right: Boo light, cookie monster and avalon all aspen sock all 100% superwash merino, all too beautiful to really capture in photos but you can see more here

Did you checkout our latest update? no? we put a lot of love into all our handsewn bags. Even in the photogrpahy here’s a few of my favorites that sold earlier today:

i also love these stickers nat got to share with me

i made some more buttons and nat bought me a squeeky crab for when i feel crabby

and here’s something some of you might enjoy seeing..our fabric cabinet that resides at wendy’s.

samuel guarding the zippers

i am also loving my pouch i finally made for myself

ok that’s probably enough love for today...nothing like a big ass picture post huh?

Happiness

Comments (15)

Happiness is bliss they say. Happiness lies within so many things right now. I figured I’d share some of them with you. First off Zander is in Little League’s T-Ball. His first game was last saturday. It was 50 degrees with a brutal wind off the lake, we were pretty darn cold. To illustrate that i have a group of spectators: Grandma, Grandpa, and close family friends.

Some pictures of Zander

Next up, some of you know that i had been saving up for a mac for a little over a year. I FINALLY got it. And i went big...a mac book pro! WOO!

It is funny when i took it to nat’s cause then there’s 3 mac’s in apt. 2A.

Some other things making me happy?

Voting! Indiana’s primary was yesterday...here’s my MY VOTE COUNTED sticker!

Ice Tea, little to no ice. mmmmm

My neighbor has a litter of pugs for sale, there’s SEVEN puppies. They are like a herd of happiness.

I’ve been doing some sewing for fun. I made a super padded sleeve for my mac book pro:

I’m also working on a messenger bag that i spent yesterday cutting out:

And i’m working on a second laptop sleeve that is less padded and has two small handles. I also need to cut out two skirts for our trip to Vegas in June for a wedding. Oh and i’ll close with two more things that fun. These two ducks were hanging out at my neighbor’s pool the other day and then i went to open the back door last friday while it stormed out..they were hanging out in the rain on the side of our pool.

And nothing like some fun with photobooth on the mac:
