this is your life

Comments (4)

whoever searched for my site using the phrase:

“This is your life loaf of bread!”

i only have love for you. For that was my most favorite skit on sesame street to date. And no one remebers him. I so wish i could find a picture of Loaf of Bread and Guy Smiley posing together.

stuff and things post #49857348574398573498573984

not a very eventful weekend, but i had fun with nathaniel. We found a new pizza place. For those of you who don’t know we can only eat at ONE NAT APPROVED (TM) pizza place in all of chicago. That wouldbe Ranaldi’s in lakeview (across from the giant borders on diversey) Anyways, this one is literally across the street and one block away. They make a mean thin crust pizza. It is called Apart pizza for any of you who live near lincoln square.

we ventured to the japanese bookstore for fun on saturday and IKEA. I stopped in the giant mall and bought a new pair of VANS shoes. Nat HATES them. That is usually the litmus test for any new shoes i buy, the more he hates them the quicker i’ll say “I’ll take them!” They will be a nice summer shoe…and they should take you straight back to 1988. Except they aren’t checkered.

I bought Nat a gift last weekend and it was delivered this past week. It’s a fat kittie i bought for him thru Bright October here’s what he looks like:

i came home last nite to a large box that came in the mail. It was from Cara the counter part to My dorky best friend! In her cute little card she said it was a belated birthday gift. And because i collect snoopy this was such a cute gift! And no cara, i didn’t have one…my mom got me the charlie brown for xmas and i got zander a snoopy, but i didn’t have one til now! So thank you so very much for that little suprise! He sits next to ONEYE.

does anyone know how to make a good smoothie? Nat and i are thinking about buying a blender next weekend!

Can-o-worms

Comments (3)

i’m opening a can-o-worms here but i just can’t take this kind of stuff anymore. I want to link this article thanks to Lesa This article is so SHAMEFUL. This community should be so shamed to feel like the bunch of fools they really are. i cannot believe in the 21st century we deal with this kind of crap over and over. If you didn’t click on the article i will let you know again, this is an article about a teacher who is being suspeneded for showing a video about opera. That is only the beginning, they furtherly pick at the teacher because she herself is an opera singer. They go on to call her a devil worhipper and a NON CHRISTIAN because she wouldn’t let them sing christmas songs. Now public schools have to dance around those issues today to show tolerance to ALL religions, not JUST CHRISTIANITY. And when that’s explained the community then has to attack a mormon community next door saying well they aren’t REALLY CHRISTIAN so let’s attack MORE PEOPLE.

what the hell has happened to people? We might as well be still living in the middle ages. Why don’t i still see any burning at the stake? or torture for heresey? wait that above article is basically torture for heresey. we haven’t gotten anywhere.

Nat

Comments (3)

Nat was telling me about this really really crazy story in the car this weekend that is so unreal you HAVE to read it to understand it really is real. It involves FLYING COWS, POLICE CARS ON FIRE, and RUNAWAY IMMIGRANTS. Click here for the short story.

Also i want to say how proud i am of my little web genius, Nathaniel. He is an exceptional artist, creative being, and designer. Because of this he is continually and i do mean CONTINUALLY changing his website. He has been re-doing his website for the entire 3.5 years we’ve been together. Just when he finishes it he starts over and makes changes. For those of you who have never looked at his website you can see it here Now i am showing it off because at the beginning of Feb. he tells me he’s entered a contest. If he used this software to design his website he could enter it for the category and try to win 1k and some other stuff. I at first laughed at him because i reminded him he’s worked on it in a perpetual state for 3.5 years, he’s never “finished”. He did “finish” it for the contest and he won 5th place! You can see all the winners here i am so proud of him! Altho he is already working on it again and messing around with it, so it’s back to that perpetual state. and personally i think he should have been at first or second place cause that second place winner’s site is kind of boring. so go take a look see and tell me if he shouldn’t have won first place!

Long time coming…

Comments (4)

Thanks for the get well wishes from some of you, i actually appreciated that a lot more than you’d think. I am FINALLY feeling much better and back to my old self.Altho i am not rushed and living out of a suitcase at the moment and can catch up on some things i need to show off and thank some people! As you know because my sister and i sell handmade things, i really supporthandmade myself. I want to show you some excellent people I’ve ordered from or traded with as of late. Actually over a month ago i emailed Amy about her cute little stitch markers she had made. She told me how much and i said send me some! here’s the cute little snowmen and pea pods she sent along:

Onward…a long time ago i did a cd swap and one of my partners was Marianne you simply MUST check her site out if you haven’t already. I instantly became a huge fan of her illustration and herONEYE characters. She is one of my most favorite designers for her use of color and whimsy in her characters. I one day asked her if she’d like to trade stuff for one of her little felt flower pins. She agreed and here’s what she sent me a whole little package with her little characters!

Another great little handmade shop is Stephanie over at Trudesign Please go check out her new handmade jewelry over at her little shop that opened a week or so ago. I think her stuff is very affordable and very pretty. I ordered this little necklace that screams spring in aqua and lime greens.
here’s my oneeye modeling it:

Also in our little shop please give Jen L. a warm welcome as one of our shop’s newest friends of P knit pattern designer! Click here to order her little pattern. Again 100% of the cost of the pattern goes to each of the friends ofpiddleloop designers! We are happy to have such cool friends!

In other news….we wandered into target over the weekend for paper towels and other “fun” stuff and if you have ever read my archive for April of last year you will know my sister and i have a thing for candy. My sister likes to buy 20$ worth of Reese’s peanut butter eggs and i like to eat “crap candy” as Nat calls it. (translates to anything not chocolate) I can’t go into target without going to the candy section first. Nat had no control this time because we saw that target is now using Naughty Naughty Pets to sell it’s Easter stuff. We have always been fans. I bought this little guy Cousin Elliot because he’s my favorite color: orange.

he’s also on top of a book i have almost finished this past weekend. I recommend this book The End of Faith by Sam Harris to anyone who is angered as i have been as of late with how religion is engulfing all moral reasoning, especially within politics. He talks a lot about how morality needs to be reasoned without using religion especially within politics and government. He also notes many things within this book that i found surprising in the 20th and 21st centuries. You would think our thinking, reasoning, and basis for maorality would be far far far past where it is now, it’s quite depressing.
Speaking of books i got these:

My shawl is still only at the first wedge and the mohair is really fuzzy but here it is

and last i’ll leave you with Lucy who likes to park herself in front of a little heater fan we use to warm up the colder rooms. she is a smart dog sometimes.
